Not much to say for this as far as productivity goes. It blows Spotlight out of the water in every conceivable way - which is why I was confused when I just happened to stumble on the fact that the most recent version is NOT the one offered in the App Store. As I’m writing this, the most recent version (3) is available on the developer’s website. They do offer a purchasable “PowerPack” but the standard functionality seems to be more than adequate for my needs. In short, I highly recommend this app to anyone looking for a great search alternative.

I love this app. I don’t know how people live without it.

So much better than Spotllight. I rarely even open the finder anymore! Download this app…now. Seriously, download it - immediately.

I really like Alfred, but I wish they would make v2 available on the App Store, along with the powerpack.

This is my number 1 applicaiton on mac. It’s a shame that all further releases are distributed outside app store. I honestly gave 2.0 a try, but it’s not as quick as this one, and more buggy. Kudos to the author for the amazing productivity tool.

Plain and simple, if you dont use this, you are wasting valuable time. 2-10 seconds might not sound like much in terms of finding documents and other stuff (launchign apps, ect). but now ADD all those seconds up. day,week,months. You end up realizing you save 1,2 or even 3 hours. Get it, LEARN all its uses, and use it.

This app is absolutely essential to everything I do on my Mac now. Need to look up a word? Done. Opening an app? Done. Even opening files? Done, done, and done. It’s gotten to the point where I barely know how to use other Macs without Alfred. If you’re on this page and wondering if you should download it, do it. And that’s not praise I often give.

Ive been using Alfred for over a year. As a software engineer I use a lot of tools. Because I can open any of them with just a few keystrokes, Alfred is a HUGE timesaver for me. When I got my new Macbook this week, Alfred was the first app I looked for and installed. I cant imagine living without it, Update 2014: Changing to a new Macbook Air and Alfred is one of the first apps I installed. Still excellent.

It’s a must have! Forget Spotlight and Dock icons. Alfred will replace them for you

It’s very user-friendly. It doesn’t have all the power of Quicksilver, but come on, admit it — are you really using more than the intermediate capabilities of Quicksilver? If not, simpler really is better. Happy to have made the switch.

It pops up, finds your buried files and apps, and loads them almost instantly - this app is really outstanding.

Alfred, Keyremap4macbook, Shiftit and Growl. nothing to say anymore

Unlike spotlight, this has what I am looking for as the first result 99% of the time, and is much more versatile. You can search files, apps, search google (or just about any website you want), open a website, do simple math, or look up a word in a dictionary much faster than you can with spotlight. I would strongly reccomend it. Please add the ability to create a custom command similar to “custom searches” but for an app or document instead of only websites. For example, if I were type “m” alfred would open Mail every time, or if I were to type “w” Microsoft Word would always be the first result. I know it is only a few keystrokes shorter than typing a few more letters of what I am looking for but it would be a nice addition.

I can find all my apps easily without cluttering my dock or searching though the Quick Launch icons! This is much easier.

For long, I relied on spotlight search and google quick search box. Tired of frequent crashing of GQSB, I decied to give Alfred a try. Immediately impressed. Heard about it long ago; really regret to use it so late. Powerful, make you productive, beautiful, customizable.

After installing this app a year ago, I purchased all features within a week. I can not say enough awesome things about this app. LOVE IT! I cant live without it. It drives me nuts now when I am on other peoples computers that dont have this app. My favorite app of the last 3 years! Thank you! P.S. I am running on Version 2 which currently isnt found in the App Store.

Alfred has saved me a multitude of time. The application combines simplicity and functionality and I personally favor it in comparison to “Spotlight.” In all, Alfred is an application I use a multitude of times on a daily basis and would surely recommend to everyone.

Alfred has become indispensable in my daily Mac life. I use it constantly - it’s become as natural as point-and-click.
